Brock Lesnar Amazes WWE Day 1 Audience, Event Trends in Egypt

A few hours ago, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) introduced to Pro Wrestling fans the first edition of Day 1 pay-per-view show. The idea of the event was suggested in late 2021 to replace WWE TLC show.

Before the Show

Organized on the first day of the year, the event faced several challenges as WWE became obliged to introduce a heavy match card to the fans to encourage the audience to attend the show live.

The speed of the tickets selling was somehow strengthened by the end of November after announcing a contest between the Tribal Chief and the Head of the Table, Roman Reigns, and the Beast Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship.

Unfortunately, the show faced hindrance only 4 days before its kick off as dozens of COVID-19 infections were reported among the WWE roasters' superstars, staff members, and producers.

One of the stars that contracted the virus was Seth Rollins which led WWE fans to question the possibility of his participation in the Fatal 4-Way contest for the WWE Championship, in addition to questioning the presence of his partner Becky Lynch in the event as she is closed person and the one who is in always direct contact with him.

Furthermore, the position of Big E, Reigns, and Blair was also discussed by the fans after the three mentioned stars were pulled out from the huge WWE Madison Square Garden event, leading the cancellation of the two scheduled Steel Cage matches between E, Rollins, and Kevin Owens, and between Lynch and Blair, and a new match between Edge and Owens was organized.

Last Minute Plans

The matters got harder before the Day 1 with three hours as Reigns tested positive for COVID-19 which forced the organizers to cancel the show's main event, and add Lesnar to the Fatal 4-Way contest for the WWE Championship alongside E, Owens, Rollins, and Bobby Lashely.

Therefore, the organizers had to stretch the length of some matches, and add more promos between the contests to cover the the time of the pulled out match.

The duration of the matches ranged between 10 minutes to 25 minutes for each.

Overview

The final match card had six matches and one kick-off contest. Four matches were Championship matches: E vs Rollins vs Owens vs Lashely vs Lesnar for the WWE Championship, Lynch vs Liv Morgan for Raw Women's Championship, RK Bro vs the Street Profits for Raw Tag-Team Championships, and the Usos vs the New Day for the SmackDown Tag-Team Championships.

In addition, there were contest between Edge and the Miz, Drew McIntyre vs Madcap Moss, and the kickoff show between Sheamus and Holland vs Ricochet and Cesaro.

The main event, the Fatal 5-Way match, was the best-written, and the strongest match of the night, although it wasn't the longest one, unlike the fans' expectations.

Lesnar, History Maker

The victory of Lesnar drove all WWE fans crazy, leading the WWE followers who skipped the event to brows it on WWE Network, and other wrestling streaming services which caused slowdown at several platforms, in addition, the name of WWE Day 1 trended locally in several countries, alongside trending Twitter worldwide.

It also considered a turning point in the future of the whole segments in the promotion such as the feud between Lesnar and Reigns, the segments between Zayn and Lesnar, the future of Lashely, Owens, and Rollins, and what is next for the Big E.

In addition, the victory of the Lesnar opened the discussion for unifying the WWE Championship and the WWE Universal Championship in a match between the Beast and the Tribal Chief.

Finally, this moment left the fans confused about suggested names of winning the upcoming 30-Man-Royal Rumble match.
