Ben Duncan, the British reality TV star best known for his appearance on Big Brother and for his long-standing friendship with Prince William and Princess Kate, has died at the age of 45 in a tragic accident that has left many in shock.

According to reports in the British press, including The Mirror, Duncan fell from a height of around 30 metres from the rooftop of a hotel in West London on October 30.

The Metropolitan Police stated that officers were called to Cockspur Street in Westminster after receiving a report of a man on the roof of a building.

Despite immediate attempts by emergency responders to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities confirmed the death was “unexpected, but not being treated as suspicious.”

Duncan rose to prominence during the eleventh season of Big Brother, leaving the show on day 52.

He later appeared in many television programmes, such as Come Dine with Me and Celebrity Coach Trip.

Beyond television, Duncan was well-known for his wide social circle and connections in political and cultural spheres, counting figures such as Lord Peter Mandelson, Michael Portillo, and designer Nicky Haslam among his acquaintances.

His friendship with Prince William and Kate dates back to their university years at St Andrews in Scotland, where he was considered part of their close social group.

Speaking about that period in a 2010 interview, Duncan said, “We all knew they were close, but everyone gave them the space to enjoy that time quietly.”
