In a joint statement, the BRICS countries welcomed Syria's return to the Arab League.
"The ministers welcome Syria's return to the League of Arab States and affirm their support for efforts aimed at a political and consensual solution that respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria," a statement issued by a ministerial meeting of the "BRICS" group, on Thursday, said.
Noteworthy, a meeting of the foreign ministers of the BRICS member states, which includes Russia, China, India, Brazil and South Africa, will be held in the Republic of South Africa on June 1 and 2.
Last May, the member states of the League of Arab States agreed to Syria's return to the organization.
