British media reported that a knife attacker has killed three Scots in a stairwell to a hotel in Glasgow city center, Scotland, UK. A police officer is among those who have been stabbed.

It's reported that the suspect was shot by the police. Eyewitnesses have told Sky News they saw people, bloodied, being taken on stretchers from the Park Inn hotel.

A Police Scotland spokesman said the incident has been contained and there is no further threat to the public.

An eyewitness told a news agency: "I saw a man lying on the ground, of African descent, with no shoes on. He was on the ground with someone holding his side - I don't know if it was a bullet wound, a stab wound, or what it was."
