Directed by João Paulo Miranda Maria, the film revolves around a native man, Cristovam. who works in a milk factory in a former Austrian colony in Brazil.
He feels lonely, ostracized by cultural and ethnic differences. One day, he discovers an abandoned house filled with objects that remind him of his origins.
He slowly settles in this house. Curiously, more objects start to appear without explanation, as if the place is haunted.
Today's screening is the film's first release in the Middle East and North Africa.
The film participated at various international festivals such as Toronto International Film Festival.
It is worthy to mention, another film will be screened today at the CIFF International Competition which is the Egyptian "Curfew" by Amir Ramsis.
"Curfew" is one of the earliest films that sold out yesterday.
The 42nd CIFF kicked off on 2 December and its activities are ongoing to 10 December.
