U.S. Department of State announced that Secretary Antony Blinken will visit Egypt on Tuesday to discuss ongoing efforts to halt the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
From the moment the Israeli war on Gaza erupted, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi directed Egypt to intensify its communications with all relevant parties, as well as with regional and international stakeholders, starting from October 7, 2023, up until now, through both the presidency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other concerned bodies.
The U.S. State Department also announced that Secretary Blinken arrived in Israel on Sunday as part of Washington's intensive diplomatic efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, aimed at ending the war that has persisted in the region for over 10 months.
Blinken's tenth visit to the region since the war began in October last year comes just days after the United States proposed solutions to the Gaza crisis, which it, along with mediators Egypt and Qatar, believes could bridge the gaps between the warring parties.
