US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Monday, that he discussed with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi the strategic partnership between Egypt and US.
"Important meeting with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the U.S.-Egypt strategic partnership," Blinken tweeted.
"We discussed Egypt’s important role in regional stability, bilateral cooperation, and the importance of progress on human rights," US top diplomat added.
It is worth mentioning that, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi received Blinken at Ittihadiya Presidential Palace in Cairo in the first leg of the latter's three-day visit to the Middle East.
The meeting was attended by the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry. During the talks, the duo discussed regional issues including attempts to relaunch a political transition in Sudan and the deadlock between rival factions in Libya.
