US Secretary of State Antony Blinken affirmed to Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Yair Lapid the United States (US)'s unwavering commitment to Israel's security and to confronting common threats, including the Iranian threat.
Blinken held a phone call, on Wednesday, with Lapid, to congratulate him on assuming his new role, according to a statement published on the US state department's official website.
During their conversation, Blinken noted that President Joe Biden looks forward to celebrating the partnership with Israel during his upcoming visit.
Concerning the Palestinian issue, the US Secretary of State emphasized US support for a two-state solution.
It is worth mentioning that, Blinken had discussed with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in a phone call Thursday the proposal to remove the PLO from the terrorism list.
