Blinken Affirms his Country's Support for Tunisia

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken affirmed that his country stands by the Tunisian people, in light of the ongoing economic challenges they face.

"On behalf of the government of the United States of America, I extend my congratulations to the people of Tunisia on the 67th anniversary of their country's indepemdence....  As Tunisians celebrate more than 12 years since their revolution, the United States remains deeply committed to the fundamental freedoms, democratic institutions, and inclusive political dialogue that Americans and Tunisians have struggled to achieve,"  Blinken said.

The US Secretary of State indicated that the US renews its full commitment to stand with the Tunisians as they face continuous economic challenges, which were exacerbated by the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

"We will continue to support the Tunisian people's aspirations for a democratic and prosperous future and support the ongoing efforts to protect human rights and the rule of law as the basis for a just and equitable society," US top diplomat affirmed.
