Biden to Host Angolan Counterpart Next Thursday

US President Joe Biden will host his Angolan counterpart, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, at the White House next Thursday to discuss ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields.

In a statment, The White House said that "this meeting will be based on the principles of the US-Africa Leaders Summit, specifically how the United States and African countries and peoples can continue to work together to address regional and global challenges."

The statement added that both presidents will celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Moreover, they will discuss the next steps to deepen their bilateral cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, climate, energy, and to promote the vision of the Global Infrastructure Partnership and invest in the Lobito Corridor, which will connect Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Zambia to global markets through the Angolan port of Lobito.
