US President Joe Biden said he does not see Russia's suspension of the Strategic Offensive Arms Reduction Treaty (START 3) as evidence of a willingness to use nuclear weapons.
Biden stated that such step is a big mistake but believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not consider using nuclear weapons.
He added that there is no evidence of using nuclear weapons or ICBMs.
According to the US president, Washington did not detect any change in the state of readiness of the Russian nuclear forces.
Biden expressed his conviction in the possibility of finding a solution to the issue of the "Start" treaty.
On February 21, Putin announced Russia's suspension of the Treaty on the Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the country did not withdraw from the treaty, and will continue to abide by the restrictions on the number of missiles contained therein until the expiry of the treaty's validity date and that it may back down from its decision if the United States takes positive steps in this regard.
