Biden Mourns Loss of 8 US Air Forces Members in Ospreay Crash

On Tuesday, US President Joe Biden mourned the victims of the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) who died in the Ospreay crash, last week.

Biden said in a statement that he was “heartbroken to learn of the loss of eight American service members.”

He added: “Our service members and their families are the backbone of our nation. We owe them everything,” continuing: “[First lady Jill Biden] and I are praying for the families and friends who lost a loved one in this terrible accident.”

The US AFSOC identified the eight US airmen who died in the Osprey crash in southwestern Japan last week.

AFSOC said that the bodies of three airmen from the accident have been recovered, while the remains of another three are in the process of being recovered.Two bodies are still unfound. 

US military personnel, Japan’s army and coast guard members are continuing to search for the remaining crew members.
