Barcelona confirmed on Monday that young midfielder Marc Bernal has signed a new deal with the club, keeping him at Camp Nou until June 2029.
The 18-year-old put pen to paper at the club’s offices in the presence of president Joan Laporta, first vice president Rafael Yuste, and sporting director Deco.
Bernal recently returned to action after a 383-day absence due to a serious knee injury.
He marked his comeback in style, providing an assist in Barcelona’s 6–0 victory over Valencia on September 14.
A product of Berga’s youth ranks, Bernal became a regular starter under Hansi Flick at the beginning of the 2024–25 season.
However, his progress was halted by a torn ACL and additional cartilage damage sustained during a match at Vallecas on August 27, 2024.
By securing this renewal, Barcelona has shown full confidence in the promising midfielder.
His previous contract, which ran until 2026 with an optional three-year extension, has now been upgraded to 2029.
The deal includes a €500 million release clause alongside a salary increase, underlining the club’s belief in his long-term future.
