On Wednesday, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the state supports the democratic and delamination of its borders with Armenia.

An official statement released by the ministry highlighted the importance of solving all issues related to borders between both states through negotiations.

It added: "We call on Armenia to adhere to the principles of international law, to refrain from escalating the tensions and to end provocations at the border."

On the other hand, Azerbaijan claimed that there were provocations from the Armenian people towards Azerbaijani villages, saying: "Armenia's continued provocations on the border between the two countries demonstrate that the country deliberately aggravates the situation in the region."

The disputes between both states erupted last year over the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The armed conflict was solved by holding a ceasefire between both.
