The President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Peter Maurer revealed on Tuesday that the parties to the Karabakh conflict have so far exchanged the bodies of 200 dead people, who were killed in the recent fighting between Azerbaijan and Armenia, according to RIA Novosti.

Maurer said that the ICRC's priorities in Nagorno-Karabakh focus on helping the displaced persons, retrieving the bodies of those killed, as well as visit prisoners in order to prepare for negotiations and possible exchanges.

"According to the latest figures, 200 bodies have already been exchanged. We will continue our efforts," Maurer said.

It is worth mentioning that, on Sunday, Presidential aide Hikmat Hajiyev said that Azerbaijan decided to extend the deadline for the withdrawal of the Armenian troops from the disputed Kalbajar region until 25 November.

In a briefing, Hajiyev added that they have agreed to give time to Armenia, stressing that the schedule for the withdrawal of Armenia’s troops from Lachin and Aghdam regions remains unchanged.

The presidential aide said that Azerbaijan is monitoring the process of withdrawal of the Armenian forces and civilians from the occupied territories by using technological capabilities.
