For the first time, Australian food franchise "Jones The Grocer" is expanding its restaurant chain to include two branches in Cairo and Riyadh.

Jones the Grocer, known for its cheese rooms and retail offerings, opened its branches in Cairo this May, while the Riyadh branch is slated to open later this year.

Cairo branches, which opened during the Eid Al-Fitr, are located in Galleria 40 and O1 malls in New Cairo.

The openings are part of a plan of opening 23 new franchises across the region, as well as 200 stores around the world over the next five years.

"As our regional success continues, we are excited to partner with franchisees in both Egypt and Saudi Arabia, who are just as passionate about Jones the Grocer,” said Yunib Siddiqui, chief executive and shareholder of JTG Holdings and Jones the Grocer.

"We look forward to bringing our brand to these regions and watching them grow with support from a new audience."

Jones the Grocer items include gluten-free, vegan, and organic options. It also hosts in-store events such as Raclette Night and the Honey Bread workshop.

Jones the Grocer was founded in Sydney in 1996 and now has outlets in Cambodia, China, Singapore, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In 2019, the outlet opened two stores in the UAE: one in the Dubai Mall and the other in the Holiday Inn Abu Dhabi Downtown.
