Authorities in Pakistan confirmed on Friday that at least nine people died after a rescue boat overturned during flood relief operations.
According to a statement from the Punjab Disaster Management Authority, the incident occurred in a village near the historic city of Multan in eastern Pakistan.
The boat had rescued 24 people from flood-affected villages when it capsized. Of those on board, 15 were safely transported from the water, while nine tragically lost their lives.
The accident highlights the ongoing risks faced by rescue teams as severe flooding continues to affect communities across the region.
