At least 40 people were killed in a wave of attacks by jihadist militants in Burkina Faso, specifically in areas where jihadist armed groups are active in the north of the country, authorities reported on Saturday.
The Nigerian newspaper “The Street Journal” reported that Burkina Faso recently witnessed the killing of more than 20 people in previous attacks in northern the country, which is going through a crisis, as gunmen attacked three villages in the Yatenga region.
The wave of attacks began last Thursday and has so far resulted in killing and injuring at least 40 people and injuring dozens.
A security source mentioned that the search is underway for the perpetrators, while another security source said the perpetrators were targeted by planes in the Barga forests, killing many of them.
