At Least 3 Dead in New 6.3 Magnitude Earthquake in Turkey, Syria

The U.S. Geological Service reports that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 shook Turkey on Monday, even though the nation is still recovering from one of the biggest natural disasters in its history.

The Turkish government reports that three people are killed and 213 people are hurt as a result of Monday's earthquake.

The southern city of Samandag, which is in the province of Hatay, was the epicentre of the quake, which occurred on February 6 and left it severely damaged.

The newest earthquake, according to the mayor of Hatay, has trapped individuals under the wreckage of recently collapsed buildings.

The Syria Civil Defense Unit's White Helmets reported that numerous citizens were hurt in Syria during the most recent earthquake. The White Helmets reported that several balconies and walls collapsed as a result of the shocks.

"Many civilians were hurt as a result of stampedes, falling building rubble, and jumping from heights. A mosque's minaret and two vacant buildings in Jenderes, north of Aleppo, also collapsed "The business tweeted.

No immediate reports of fatalities in Syria exist.

Around 8 o'clock local time, buildings in a Turkish camp for 700 people who are now homeless due to the last earthquake experienced a brief 15-second shaking, along with distant lights going out.
