At least 26 Palestinians were killed and more than 30 others injured on Saturday as Israeli airstrikes continued across the Gaza Strip, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. Medical officials said several of the wounded are in critical condition, warning that the death toll is likely to rise.
In a statement, the ministry said that a number of victims remain trapped under the rubble and on roads, as ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them due to the intensity of the bombardment and ongoing hostilities.
The Israeli air force has carried out heavy strikes since dawn on multiple areas of the Gaza Strip, while fires broke out in tents sheltering displaced families in the southern city of Khan Younis, further worsening the humanitarian situation.
The ministry added that the cumulative toll since the start of the Israeli offensive on October 7, 2023, has risen to 71,769 fatalities and 171,483 injuries. It also noted that 85 additional deaths were added to the overall count after their data was verified and approved by the official committee between January 23 and January 30, 2026.
