At Least 20 Killed in Bus Accident in Pakistan

At least 20 people were killed and around 20 others injured when a passenger bus fell into a narrow passage in Pakistan, according to Geo News channel.

According to local police, the bus was traveling from the city of Rawalpindi to Gilgit, and the accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. this Friday.

The police stated that the accident happened about 20 kilometers from the city of Chilas, and preliminary data suggests that the bus fell into the narrow passage due to speeding.

Fayaz Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner of the region, told Geo News that five of the injured are in critical condition.

He added, "Rescue operations at the crash site have been completed, and helicopters belonging to the army were used during the operations."

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and instructed the relevant authorities to provide all possible medical assistance to the victims.
