Aswan Governor Major General Ismail Kamal said the governorate has secured a prominent position on the global tourism map, highlighting the near completion of the “Ahl Misr Promenade” project along the Nile as a major attraction for residents and visitors.

In televised remarks, Kamal said the promenade is designed to serve as a key recreational and tourism destination, featuring restaurants, handicraft shops, and a range of tourism-related activities. He noted that construction work has reached its final stages, paving the way for an official opening in the near future.

The governor also emphasized the impact of development projects implemented under the “Decent Life” (Hayat Karima) initiative, stating that around 2,000 development and infrastructure projects have been carried out across Aswan.

These projects have significantly improved water supply, sanitation, and electricity services, contributing to better living conditions in villages and urban centers throughout the governorate.

Kamal pointed out that Aswan’s growing global tourism appeal stems from the diversity of its tourism offerings, which include archaeological sites and ancient temples, natural landscapes, birdwatching, therapeutic tourism, and cultural experiences.

He stressed that citizen satisfaction remains a key indicator for measuring the success of development efforts, noting that the governorate prioritizes receiving and addressing public complaints in coordination with relevant authorities.

Kamal further said that celebrations marking Aswan’s National Day were scaled back this year to redirect spending toward development projects, reflecting the local administration’s focus on citizens’ needs and priorities.
