Grand Sharif Mahmoud El-Sherif, Head of Egypt’s Ashraf Syndicate, extended his heartfelt greetings and appreciation to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his continuous support in training and qualifying imams and preachers, and for his dedication to renewing religious discourse and promoting the values of moderate Islam.
Speaking on the sidelines of the graduation ceremony for the second batch of Ministry of Endowments’ imams trained at the Egyptian Military Academy, held Tuesday at the Al-Manara International Conference Center, El-Sherif emphasized that President El-Sisi places great importance on the scientific and cultural development of imams. He noted that the President’s efforts aim to foster a moderate, enlightened religious discourse based on rational interpretation within the framework of Islamic principles.
El-Sherif highlighted that President El-Sisi’s directives are focused on continuously refining the skills of imams and empowering them to address contemporary issues in a balanced and enlightened manner according to the true teachings of Islam.
He also praised the Egyptian Military Academy, describing it as a prestigious institution built to the highest international standards. He stressed that the cooperation between the Ministry of Endowments and the Academy aims to bolster the capacities of imams across various levels.
El-Sherif expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Endowments for its ongoing commitment to strengthening the scientific, religious, and financial support provided to imams.
Concluding his remarks, El-Sherif prayed for Egypt to remain a beacon of moderate Islam through its esteemed scholars and religious institutions, and for continued success for all those working to uphold these noble values.
