The Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Army, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Farid, inspected the armed forces and the police units in North Sinai on Tuesday to follow up on the security situation and to check on the living and administrative conditions.
Lieutenant-General Farid made an inspection tour that included passing a number of national projects that the armed forces are supervising and a number of government institutions and facilities.
During the tour, he met with several families and citizens who thanked and appreciated the heroes of the armed forces for their great efforts to restore security and safety. Then, he met with some executive and security leaders of North Sinai Governorate.
The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces visited the permanent operations center in the North Sinai to follow up the progress of security operations, and listened to a detailed explanation that included the presentation of plans and decisions by the leaders of the sectors for the joint plans of the heroes of the armed forces and the police to uproot terrorism.
He also held a meeting with the fighters of the armed forces, during which he conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, for their efforts and sacrifices that led to restoring security and safety, creating an appropriate climate for investment and comprehensive development in Sinai, and preserving the nation's achievements and capabilities.
Moreover, Lieutenant-General Farid conducted a dialogue with commanders, officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers, affirming his confidence in their ability to carry out their tasks with full force to maintain Sinai's security.
