The Chairman of the Competition Protection Commission of Armenia Gegham Gevorgyan and the Chairman of the Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA), Mahmoud Montaser, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) of strategic partnership, establishing cooperation across several key areas.
The memorandum seeks to enhance cooperation in the areas of implementing competition policies and legislation and consumer protection.
The signing ceremony took place in Paris, where the two sides are participating in the 24th Global Competition Forum, organized by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Under the agreement, the two parties will cooperate in exchanging information and experiences, conducting joint studies, organizing training visits and expert qualification courses, in addition to other areas that support the development of competition policies.
It is worth noting that the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission of Armenia cooperates with its Egyptian counterpart within the framework of their membership in the International Competition Network (ICN).
This cooperation gained new momentum after the Egyptian Competition Authority assumed the presidency of the Working Group “Competition Defense”, of which Armenia is an active member.
