"The Armed Forces sends sincere congratulations to the great Egyptian people on the occasion of lifting the State of Emergency," said Colonel Gharib Abdel Hafiz, the official military spokesperson.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi Sisi declared yesterday, Monday, the end of State of Emergency across the country for the first time in years.
"It is my pleasure for us to share this moment that we strove for through hard work and struggle. Egypt, thanks to its great people and loyal men, has become an oasis of security and stability in the region; hence my decision, for the first time in years, to end the state of emergency across the country," Sisi tweeted.
He added that the real decision makers are the Egyptian people who have sincerely contributed to all development and construction efforts over the past years.
"As I announce this decision, I remember and honor our heroic martyrs without whom we could not have achieved security and stability... Together, we steadily proceed towards building the new republic, relying on the help and support of Allah," the President stressed.
