The Arab League will host meetings linked to the 49th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports from Jan. 11–13, 2026, amid growing regional and global challenges affecting Arab youth, officials said.
Enas Al-Farjani, minister plenipotentiary and supervisor of social affairs at the Arab League, said the meetings reflect sustained attention by Arab leaders and governments to youth as a key driver of development.
Technical committees on youth, sports and finance will meet Jan. 11–12 at the Arab League’s headquarters in Cairo, followed by an executive bureau meeting on Jan. 13 chaired by Egypt. The full council session will be held later under the presidency of the United Arab Emirates.
The agenda includes proposals for youth forums, training on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and mental health, e-sports competitions, and regional sports events, alongside implementation plans for the Arab Youth, Peace and Security Strategy launched in 2025.
