The second edition of the Arab World Day for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development in Arab Universities has concluded at the headquarters of the League of Arab States. Held under the theme “Sustainable Educational Endowment,” the event was organized by the Arab Council for Social Responsibility in partnership with the League’s Civil Society Organizations Department, the Association of Arab Universities, and Egypt’s Ministry of Awqaf.
Senior officials and experts participated, including Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities; Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al-Kawari, Minister of State and President of Qatar National Library; and representatives from ministries, universities, development bodies, and civil society groups across the region.
In her remarks, Minister Plenipotentiary Enas Al-Farghani emphasized the vital role of universities in community development and highlighted sustainable educational endowments as a strategic mechanism for financing high-quality learning, advancing human capacity, and supporting long-term institutional growth.
Participants toured the League’s “Sira wa Masira” museum exhibition and issued recommendations calling for strengthened endowment models, deeper integration of education, research, and innovation, and greater collaboration with Arab ministries of awqaf to expand sustainable funding for higher education.
