Arab Parl't President, Brazilian Ambassador Hold Talks in Cairo

President of the Arab Parliament Adel Al Asoomi reiterated on Wednesday, the keenness of the Arab Parliament to enhance relations and cooperation with Brazil.

This came during his meeting with Mr. Antonio Patriota, Brazil Ambassador to Egypt, at Arab Parliament headquarters in Cairo.

Several regional issues and topics of mutual interest were discussed, notably the developments in the Middle East.

On his part, Al Asoomi praised Brazil's constant support to the Arab issues in various international forums, foremost of which is the Palestinian question as to the central and primary Arab issue, pointing out that Brazil is a friendly country for Arab states, that respects their sovereignty and the principle of non-interference in their internal affairs.

Moreover, Al Asoomi commended the development of Arab-Brazilian relations in the economic field, in particular commercial exchange, calling for more cooperation projects between Brazil and Arab Sates over the coming period.

On the other hand, Mr. Patriota praised the notable activity of the Arab Parliament and its openness with international and regional parliaments to serve the issues of the region, expressing his country's keenness to strengthen cooperation frameworks.
