The Palestine Committee of the Arab Parliament reaffirmed Wednesday that the Palestinian cause will remain at the top of the parliament’s agenda despite regional and international crises.
The committee, chaired by Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, held its second meeting of the current session with the participation of Palestine’s permanent representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Muhannad Al Aklouk, to review developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Al Yamahi said attempts to divert attention from what he described as ongoing violations in Gaza and the West Bank would fail, stressing that Palestine remains the “compass” guiding Arab parliamentary action. He warned of escalating violence in the West Bank and renewed calls to hold Israeli leaders accountable under international law.
Al Aklouk thanked the Arab Parliament for its continued support, urging intensified political and legal pressure to protect Palestinian civilians and advance full recognition of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
