The Arab League has stressed the urgent need for coordinated international efforts to accelerate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, warning that delays are exacerbating the suffering of civilians and deepening the humanitarian crisis.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Ambassador Fayez Mustafa, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector at the Arab League, called on the international community to intensify pressure to ensure the rapid and uninterrupted entry of humanitarian assistance to Gaza. He emphasized that aid must be sufficient to meet the needs of all residents of the enclave, while also urging the immediate launch of early recovery and reconstruction programs.
Speaking during the eighth meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, hosted by Ireland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Dublin, Mustafa condemned ongoing Israeli violations and repeated attacks against the Palestinian people. He stressed that ending the Israeli occupation and enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination, including the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, remains the only viable path to achieving lasting peace, security, and stability in the region.
Mustafa also expressed the Arab League’s appreciation for Ireland’s supportive stance toward the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. He highlighted the importance of maintaining international momentum to advance a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.
