The Arab League announced its participation in monitoring Egypt’s 2025 parliamentary elections, in response to an invitation from Counselor Hazem Badawy, President of Egypt’s National Election Authority. The initiative reflects the League’s commitment to supporting democratic processes and promoting good governance across its member states.
Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit has directed the formation of an observer mission headed by Ambassador Hussein Al-Hindawi, Assistant Secretary-General and Chief of the League’s Financial and Administrative Control Sector. The delegation includes observers from several Arab nationalities representing the League’s General Secretariat.
The mission will monitor all aspects of the electoral process — including candidate registration, campaigning, voting, and the counting of ballots — to ensure compliance with Egyptian laws and international standards. Egypt’s parliamentary elections are scheduled to take place in two phases: on November 10–11 and November 24–25, 2025.
