The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States took part in the fifth International Mining Conference and the 10th consultative meeting of Arab ministers responsible for mineral resources, held in Riyadh.
The Arab League delegation was headed by Ambassador Mohamed Saleh Al-Ajiri, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Sector, and participated alongside ministers from Arab countries as well as leading regional and international organizations specializing in mineral resources.
Al-Ajiri said the Arab League places strong emphasis on deepening Arab cooperation in the mining sector in all its forms, highlighting its strategic importance for development. He praised the Arab Industrial Development Organization for implementing the outcomes of the ninth consultative meeting, including a guiding roadmap for energy transition minerals in the Arab region and a unified mining terminology glossary.
He also stressed the role of member states in advancing the Arab initiative on artificial intelligence in the mineral resources sector.
