The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States announced that its Health and Humanitarian Aid Department convened the 17th meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee for the Council of Arab Health Ministers on Nov. 18–19, 2025, at the organization’s headquarters. The gathering prepares for the Council’s 63rd regular session and its Executive Office, scheduled for Dec. 17–18.
Delegates reviewed key regional health priorities, including support for the health sector in Palestine, successful national health initiatives, and updates on Arab strategies for engaging migrant Arab health professionals and advancing primary healthcare and family medicine for 2026–2030. The committee also discussed public health services for refugees and internally displaced persons, and reports from specialized bodies such as the Arab Board of Health Specializations and the Arab Center for Authorship and Translation.
Participants examined follow-up on decisions related to human resources investment, family planning, preparations for the Arab Health Ministers’ address at the WHO Assembly in May 2026, and ongoing work on emergency preparedness, drug control, and financing for the Arab Health Development Fund. Recommendations will be elevated to the Executive Office and then to the Health Ministers’ Council in December.
