On Sunday, the General Secretariat of the Arab League condemned the storming al-Aqsa Mosque by the Minister of National Security at the Israeli occupation government, Itamar Ben Gvir’s along with a group of Israeli settlers, and holding the weekly meeting of the occupation government in the tunnels dug under al-Buraq Square in the mosque.

“Storming al-Aqsa Mosque by Ben Gvir for the second time, is a condemnable act and it represents a dangerous escalation that pushes towards fomenting violence and tension and igniting the entire region”, WAFA Agency quoted Assistant Secretary-General for Palestinian and Arab Territories Affairs at the Arab League, Saeed Abu Ali, as saying.

Abu Ali stressed that al-Aqsa Mosque is totally a sacred place of worship for Muslims and that any measures taken by the Israeli occupation are null and void.

Abu Ali indicated that the occupation government continues its escalation and aggression against the Palestinian people and their Islamic and Christian properties and sanctities.

He called on the international community to intervene immediately to stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians, provide them with international protection, and support their struggle to obtain their legitimate national rights and establish their independent, sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital.
