The International Union of Arab Press and the International Press and Media Forum in Canada have issued a joint commendation praising the professional and patriotic stances of Egyptian and Kuwaiti media institutions. The bodies lauded the swift and decisive response of Egypt’s Ministry of State for Information, the Egyptian Media Syndicate, and the Kuwait Journalists Association in countering suspicious online campaigns aimed at inciting discord between Egypt and its Gulf allies.

Countering Incitement and Misinformation

The commendation follows a recent crisis sparked by offensive remarks made by "Fouad Al-Hashim" toward Egypt. In a firm response, Kuwaiti authorities referred the individual to the Public Prosecutor. The Kuwait Journalists Association further distanced itself from the remarks, clarifying that Al-Hashim is not a member of the syndicate and affirming that his membership would not be renewed. The association emphasized the "unshakeable fraternal ties" between the two nations.

Protecting the Media Environment

In a formal statement sent to authorities in both countries, the International Union of Arab Press highlighted that these institutions demonstrated a high level of ethical commitment. By monitoring misleading accounts and denouncing attempts at provocation or bullying, they have successfully protected the integrity of the regional media landscape.

Exposing "Creative Chaos" Agendas

Dr. Zuhair Al-Abbad, President of the Kuwait Journalists Association, revealed that these attempts to sow division are part of broader, malicious agendas designed to destabilize relations between Arab and Islamic peoples. He warned of periodic efforts to spread "creative chaos" through digital platforms as a primary tool for geopolitical disruption.

"We are advocates of peace," Dr. Al-Abbad stated, noting that the leadership in both Egypt and the Gulf remains vigilant against being dragged into unnecessary regional conflicts. The press unions reaffirmed their role in maintaining credible, responsible journalism that prioritizes national and pan-Arab interests over inflammatory rhetoric.
