The 55th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers opened Wednesday at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, chaired by Syria’s Minister of Information Hamza al-Mustafa, succeeding Bahrain’s Ramzan bin Abdullah Al-Noaimi. Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit attended the inaugural meeting.
The Palestinian issue topped the agenda, alongside discussions on the Arab Media Honor Charter and the implementation of the Arab media strategy abroad. Ministers are also reviewing the work of the Arab Electronic Media Committee, the role of media in countering terrorism, and the Arab Media Map for Sustainable Development 2030.
