The Arab coalition has intercepted on Saturday a booby-trapped drone, launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia towards Jazan city, Saudi Arabia, without causing injuries or damage.
In a statement, the coalition noted that the drone was launched from Sana’a International Airport to target civilians.
In 2014, the Yemeni civil war began when the Houthis seized the capital, Sanaa, 120 kilometers west of Marib, prompting Saudi-led forces to intervene to prop up the government the following year.
Tens of thousands of people have died, and millions have been displaced in what the United Nations has called the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
