Arab Coalition in Yemen, Egypt Condemn Houthi Militia Attack on Saudi

Arab Coalition in Yemen Spokesperson Colonel Turki al-Maliki confirmed that the targeting carried out by the Houthi terrorist militia on Saturday through launching two ballistic missiles towards the the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which were deliberately targeting civilians in the Kingdom.

These missiles are also targeting the unity and solidarity of the world countries during the ongoing exceptional global circumstances regarding the novel corona virus. 

"The Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles fired by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia from (Sanaa) and (Saada) towards the Kingdom," al-Maliki stated. 

Colonel al-Maliki noted that the Houthi militias, based in Yemen, have not succeeded in achieving any of their goals by launching ballistic missiles or drones, stressing that Saudi Arabia continues to protect its lands and citizens. 

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is strong thanks to its leadership, people, and valiant armed forces men,” he stressed.

He added that the Houthi militia will not be able to reach its targets, pointing out that the Houthi militia is the first terrorist group in the world to obtain ballistic missiles. 

In this regard, he pointed out to the targeting and failed terrorist attempts a few days ago, in a brutal barbaric attack by the Houthi militia and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps for civilians in the cities of Abha and Khamis Mushayt.

In his opinion, the Houthi militia launched two missiles at this time to exploit the ongoing global crisis that the entire world suffers from while fighting the novel Virus of Corona epidemic (Covid 19).

In this regard, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in the strongest terms the Houthi militia firing two ballistic missiles targeting the cities of Riyadh and Jazan in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from Yemen, which resulted in the injury of two civilians, according to an official statement issued on Sunday.

The statement expressed sincere wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured, stressing Egypt's solidarity, government and people, with the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Egypt's support for all necessary measures to maintain the security and stability of the Kingdom.
