Apple recently confirmed that it will postpone the iPhone 12 release until the upcoming October due to production delays, but a new report says that the launch will be pided into two phases.

The American company is scheduled to launch four smartphones this year, and well-informed sources revealed that the two 6.1-inch models will arrive on the market first.

It is said that shipments of the device are underway, and devices of 6.7 and 5.4 inches will follow in late August, as this delay comes as a result of the novel coronavirus pandemic that forced Apple to close its factories in China earlier this year, in an attempt to limit the spread of the virus.

According to the British "Daily Mail" website, September was the exact month in which Apple launched the next generation of the iPhone, but the ongoing health crisis and travel restrictions forced the company to change plans.

News of the two-stage launch of Apple phones was reported by Digitimes, which revealed Apple's supply chain plans to take orders for new iPhone components in the fourth quarter - a few weeks later than usual.

"Apple may launch its iPhone 5G phones in two phases, with 6.1-inch models in the first and other devices measuring 6.7 and 5.4 inches per second," the report said.

At a rumored 5.4 inches, the 2020 iPhone 12 will be the smallest iPhone Apple has released since the 4.7-inch iPhone SE. At 6.7 inches, the 2020 iPhone 12 Pro will be Apple's largest iPhone to date, which is the 6.5-inch iPhone 11 Pro Max. The two 6.1-inch models will be similar in size to the existing iPhone 11.

Rumors suggest Apple will offer four iPhones in three different sizes, with Apple introducing new sizes for the first time in a few years.

One 6.1-inch model and the 6.7-inch model will be higher-end "Pro" iPhones, while the other 6.1-inch iPhone and the 5.4-inch iPhone will be lower-end models and successors to the iPhone 11. The higher-end iPhones will feature newer camera systems with triple-lens setups, while the lower-end iPhones will feature dual-lens camera setups.
