U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken gave an impressive performance at the end of his interview on The Late Show.
Blinken had an interview with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday, during which the two discussed United States efforts in Ukraine and building back the State Department following Donald Trump’s presidency.
“I can tell you this, the State Department is back,” he told Colbert before listing some of the department’s recent achievements.

At the end of the interview, Colbert placed a photo of Blinken playing the guitar on his desk, saying, “As important as that work is that you just described, I think perhaps you’ll best be remembered as the lead guitarist of the band ABlinken.”
“I long wanted to be a musician as a kid. As a teenager, that’s what I wanted to do,” the American diplomate told Colbert. “There was just one missing ingredient: talent.”
Despite the crack, the band actually has three songs on Spotify titled, “Lip Service,” “Patience,” and “Without Ya.”
The secretary of state agreed to show off his talents on Wednesday, jamming out with Jon Batiste’s band Stay Human to play Colbert and his team out.
