Antiquities Ministry celebrated on Sunday the opening of the 12th international congress of Egyptologists by holding a musical dinner banquet in Giza Pyramids.
The event was attended by around 600 archaeologists from different countries around the world, and a galaxy of foreign and Arab ambassadors, as well as four Egyptian ministers including; Dr. Khaled Al Anani, Antiquities Minister, Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning, Dr. Sahar Nasr, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology (IT).
Addressing the ceremony, Al-Anani welcomed the audiences, stressing that this year’s edition will be unique and different.
The attendees were very impressed by the ceremony's organization and were keen to take a number of memorial photos in this historic site.
Noteworthy, under the patronage of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Al-Anani inaugurated on Sunday the 12th international congress of Egyptologists, hosted in Cairo from November 3 to 8.
During the inaugural session, Antiquities Minister honored a number of prominent archaeologists in recognition of their sincere efforts including; well-know Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass, Director of German Archaeological Institute in Cairo Stephan Seidlmayer, and American archaeologist Mark Lehner.
