Pyramids named Friday the Croatian manager Ante Čačić as a new head coach. Pyramids sacked Sébastien Desabre, who was in charge of the Egyptian league club since July 8, due to bad results.

On their official Facebook page, Pyramids reported that the 66-year-old coach is set to lead the club against Al Masry in the 3rd round of the Confederation Cup group stage. Pyramids are set to clash against Egypt's Al Masry on Sunday, 29 December.

Pyramids and Al Masry are now topping Group A in the confederation Cup with six points as both sides were drawn in  Group A alongside Mauritania's Nouadhibou and Enugu Rangers from Nigeria.

Čačić led his national team in Euro 2016, but Croatia was knocked out by Portugal, who claimed the title. Pyramids now rank fifth in the Egyptian League with sixteen points, eight points behind table-toppers Al Ahly.

The Saudi General Entertainment Authority chairman  Turki Al-Sheikh bought the Egyptian side Assiouty Sport in June 2018, renaming it to Pyramids FC.

The Ex-honorary President of Al-Ahly club sold Pyramids FC to Emirati investor Salem Al-Shamsi on Friday, June 5.

Pyramids finished third in the Egyptian Premier League with 70 points after delivering an impressive season under the ownership of Al- Sheikh. The club managed to beat the league’s winner Al-Ahly and the runner-up Zamalek during the last season.
