American Airlines Passenger Storms Cockpit, Damages Controls

The airline claimed on Tuesday that a customer broke into the cockpit of an American Airlines plane at a Honduran airport and damaged the plane as it was boarding for a journey to Miami.

American Airlines claimed in a statement to Newsweek that crew members intervened and the inpidual was brought into custody by law authorities.

The culprit stormed down the jetway and into the cockpit, breaking flying controls and attempting to leap out an open window while a pilot sought to stop him, according to ABC News. The man's identity has not been revealed.

A passenger was recorded on video attempting to exit the plane through the cockpit glass, according to a video posted on social media by someone who purported to be at the airport.
