President Abdel Fattah El Sisi participated today, Thursday, via video conference in the high-level meeting organized by the Egyptian-American Business Council and the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) which commenced the president's leadership and 'success'.
"President Sisi's leadership presented Egypt to the world as a model of success and an important development partner," the AmCham said during the meeting.
Heads of boards of directors, senior officials of a number of major international US companies, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat, , and Minister of Trade and Industry Neveen Gamea took part in the conference as well, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
A number of directors and senior officials of the most prominent American international companies in various fields, most notably Apache, Bechtel, Honeywell, Uber, Lockheed Martin, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Google, MasterCard, Pepsi, and the Hilton Group attended the meeting too.
Rady said that Sisi welcomed this important meeting that embodies the spirit of cooperation and solid friendship between Egypt and the U.S., stressing Egypt's keenness to continue to create an attractive climate for US investments to contribute to supporting the economic development process in Egypt, through a partnership with major U.S. companies to make the best use of the currently promising investment opportunities in Egypt.
Moreover, Sisi affirmed that the qualitative shift that Egypt recently witnessed in the various economic and development sectors reflects the strong and ambitious will of the country to achieve sustainable development, reflected in the increase in foreign investments in various sectors.
For their part, the boards of directors of major U.S. companies expressed their happiness in organizing this event and to meet again with Sisi to discuss promising investment opportunities in Egypt, praising in this regard the priorities of the investment plan of the Egyptian state that is consistent with the features of the global economic system, especially in the field of energy, as well as the field of information technology, financial inclusion and digital economy, in addition to the fields of tourism, transportation, water desalination and treatment, health care, as well as smart cities.
