On Thursday, a private jet, Cessna 550, crashed into a residential neighbourhood in Tierrasanta, San Diego. The incident left behind several casualties, in addition to major destruction to homes and cars.
Authorities from the FAA, NTSB, and local emergency services have confirmed at least two fatalities and multiple injuries as a result of the crash.
The aircraft went down around 3:45 am near Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport, crashing into power lines before striking a home.The impact caused a fire in the house and several cars, leaving behind thick smoke in the night, according to emergency responders.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene to contain the fires and assist residents in evacuating safely.
At least six people were aboard, in addition to eight individuals who suffered injuries.
The flight took off from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, stopping to refuel in Wichita, Kansas, before heading to San Diego.According to NTSB investigator Eliott Simpson, the plane faced trouble just two miles from the airport, striking power lines before crashing into a residential property.
Among the victims were Dave Shapiro, 42, co-founder of the music agency Sound Talent Group, and Daniel Williams, 39, former drummer for the metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada.

Daniel Williams, former drummer of the hugely-popular Christian metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada, is feared to have died in the private jet crash in San Diego.

The National Transportation Safety Board is conducting a major investigation into the crash, with support from the Federal Aviation Administration.
