The rest of the treasures of King Tutankhamun will be transported from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to the Grand Egyptian Museum, therefore, the Ministry of Antiquities decided to move Tanis treasures to replace Tutankhamun’s collection.
Tanis collection consists of 2000 artifacts, including masks of gold, coffins from silver for kings Shoshenq I, and Psusennes I.
Therefore, the hall has been upgraded to be ready for exhibiting the Tanis collection, in addition, the process of the display scenario writing by a specialized team from the Louver Museum, in the cooperation with an Egyptian team of archaeologists and restores.
In the same context, the final additions to the halls dedicated to the antiquities of the Old Kingdom of Egypt, Greco-Roman, and the Late Period of Ancient Egypt were finalized.
Moreover, the process of developing the lighting system at the museum has been concluded.
