Egypt’s Ministry of Antiquities Closes All Archaeological Sites, Museums

In continuation of implementing precautionary and preventive measures to combat the novel Coronavirus, Secretary-General of the Antiquities Supreme Council Dr. Mostafa Waziri announced that all archaeological sites and museums across Egypt will be closed.

The decision will be put into force starting from March 22 until March 31 for the purpose of sterilizing, disinfecting and implementation of all safety and prevention measures in coordination with the Health and Population Ministry and upon the international standards.

During this period, awareness-raising courses will be given to whosever works at museums and archaeological sites so they can adhere properly to preventive and protective measures against the virus.
