Alireza Jafarzadeh: Velayat-e Faqih Regime Uses Negotiations as Cover to Rebuild Nuclear Program in Preparation for Confrontation

Alireza Jafarzadeh, Deputy Director of the Washington Office of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), stated today that the Velayat-e Faqih regime is racing against time to rebuild its nuclear capabilities damaged in previous military strikes. He noted that the regime is employing the ongoing talks in Geneva and Oman as a tactical cover to deceive the international community.

"New satellite imagery released by Planet Labs clearly demonstrates that Khamenei’s murderous regime has launched extensive reconstruction operations at uranium enrichment facilities, including the Isfahan and Natanz complexes, which were targeted in Operation 'Midnight Hammer' on June 22," Jafarzadeh said.

He added: "It is evident that the regime has intensified its efforts to restore enrichment capabilities that we estimate to be worth $2 trillion—a staggering sum that exceeds Iran's total oil revenues since this regime seized power in 1979. The Velayat-e Faqih regime is plundering the wealth of the Iranian people to prolong its survival through a nuclear weapon that threatens global peace."

Jafarzadeh continued: "Khamenei, the hangman, agreed to nuclear talks only because they provide critical time to evade or mitigate the consequences of direct confrontation. Meanwhile, satellite images show the backfilling of tunnel entrances in Isfahan and the installation of new roofs on destroyed buildings in Natanz, confirming that Tehran is 'preparing for war' and has no intention of ever abandoning its nuclear ambitions."

He further explained: "The regime's attempts to downplay the scale of destruction—which President Trump and former Secretary of State Pompeo previously characterized as 'lies'—reflect the state of panic in Tehran. Continued reconstruction in the midst of negotiations is definitive proof that this regime does not understand the language of diplomacy."

He emphasized: "The only fundamental solution to end this regime’s nuclear and terrorist threat lies not in appeasement through negotiations, but in supporting the choice of the Iranian people. The Rebellious Youth across all Iranian cities are the force capable of breaking the machine of oppression and destruction led by Khamenei."

Jafarzadeh concluded: "The Iranian Resistance, which was the first to expose the secret Natanz site to the world in 2002, renews its warning today: any sanctions relief will be used to fund the nuclear bomb and suppress the people.
