Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi met with UN Special Envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg on Sunday to discuss UN efforts to resume a comprehensive Yemeni political process under UN auspices.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the local situation and the international pressure needed to push the Houthis towards serious engagement with peace efforts, ending the suffering of the Yemeni people, and restoring its legitimate institutions.
Al-Alimi reiterated his commitment to the support of the Council and the government to the efforts of the United Nations, and the keenness to provide all facilities to its special envoy to fulfill his duties and responsibilities included in the international legitimacy resolutions, especially resolution 2216.
